How does the royalty split actually work?

Every stream, sale, and sync is paid by the platform to Anka Music Group (AMG). We take a share defined by your subscription tier, then forward the rest to your payout method. The split is calculated per-payment — no hidden fees, no escrow, no ledger games. Higher tiers keep a larger share of royalties; the exact percentage for each tier is shown on the pricing page.

What does "catalog not held hostage" mean?

Your releases stay live on every distributed platform, even if you stop paying or move to a different tier. We don't delete catalogs when subscriptions lapse. Releases only come down if you request a takedown, or if the platform itself changes (e.g. shuts down, changes its terms of service). If you downgrade tiers, existing releases keep their original royalty split.

Can I change tiers later?

Anytime. Upgrades take effect at the next billing cycle. Downgrades keep existing releases on the previous split; new releases use the new split. No penalty, no minimum contract, no exit clause.

What's the catch with a 100% royalty tier?

Accepted Answer

There isn't one. AMG earns margin on the subscription itself on higher tiers, not by skimming royalties. The trade-off is committing to an annual plan upfront. If even one track recovers the subscription cost, you're net-positive compared to lower tiers — and beyond that, every payout is yours.

Do I keep my masters?

Yes. AMG is a distribution and services partner, not a label. Masters, publishing rights, your name. We hold non-exclusive distribution rights only while your catalog is active with us.

Why is the release window 7-14 days on every tier?

That's the window needed for editorial playlist pitching, building a pre-save funnel, and clean platform delivery without rushing. The music industry runs on that rhythm — if you submit today and want it live tomorrow, you skip every promotion window that makes a release work properly. The 7-14 day window is locked in the dashboard for all tiers.

So what changes between tiers if the release window is the same?

Priority queue. Paid tiers are processed first in our internal pipeline — metadata validation, ISRC allocation, and platform delivery happen faster behind the scenes. Higher tiers also unlock rush options for time-sensitive drops (a sync deal, a news moment, a brand activation), where the internal workflow can be compressed. The dashboard 7-14 day window still applies, but everything within that window moves faster on a higher tier.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. Free tiers stay free with no commitment. Paid annual tiers refund pro-rata on the unused portion of the term. Custom contracts have notice periods specific to the deal; we don't lock anyone in.

When does a custom tier make sense?

Labels managing many artists, catalogs with complex split agreements, or operators who need dedicated account management, custom analytics exports, or non-standard payout flows. If you're asking, get in touch — the honest answer might still be "stay on a standard tier, you don't need this."
